My Favorite #FM where is it now???

Quite recently in one of the columns in the economic times, there was a shocking and interesting headline which caught my attention. so, it made me write on this.

In India, while the millennials or 2k kids might not have enjoyed the hearing a full cricket commentary over FM radio, or a short run on of a famous movie scene or even listened to the jingles but I am sure the generation before that certainly enjoyed it.

Where is my FM station now!!

Today, my 5-year-old son asks me or actually himself to #alexa to play his favorite tunes. for a short moment while we enter our car, and the infotainment system is on it defaults to FM. But the next thing I hear is “OH, Daddy” who hears this old grandpa songs, switch to #amazonmusic” . Well while I am a proud dad to see how my kids is adopting to technology at such a young age but still, I miss my favorite FM, I miss the wait for the ad to be over then listen to the Radio Jockey who is trying their best to keep us happy and entertained….

Today with new mobile phones this FM technology is slowly losing its popularity as people are now streaming their favorite songs hearing at their own pace using the popular streaming services like #amazonmusic, #spotify, #jiosaavn, #applemusic etc.. Moreover, even manufactures have stopped including this feature in the latest mobile. I wonder why???

Why is FM Important

FM – Frequency Modulation, are an essential need for broadcasting messages to the mass. FM receivers have been around for decades, and they are still relevant today. In fact, they are more important than ever before because they provide access to local and regional news, weather updates, and emergency alerts in times of crisis. In this blog post, we’ll explore the importance of FM receivers in mobile phones and how they can benefit users.

First and foremost, FM receivers offer a way for users to stay connected to their local community. Whether it’s listening to local news, sports updates, or music, FM receivers provide users with access to a wide range of content that is relevant to their location. This is particularly important for people who are on the go and may not have access to traditional radio stations.

In addition to keeping users connected to their local community, FM receivers can also provide important emergency alerts. During natural disasters, severe weather events, or other emergencies, FM receivers can broadcast critical information that can help people stay safe. This can include evacuation orders, shelter locations, and other important updates.

FM receivers are also important for people who live in areas with poor cellular coverage. While many people rely on streaming services like Spotify and Gaana for music, these services require a strong cellular signal. FM receivers, on the other hand, can provide a reliable source of music and other content even in areas with limited cellular coverage.

Finally, FM receivers can be an important tool for conserving battery life. Streaming music or other content over a cellular network can drain a mobile phone’s battery quickly. FM receivers, on the other hand, require very little power, allowing users to conserve battery life while still enjoying their favorite content.

My humble request

FM receivers are an important feature of mobile phones that offer a range of benefits to users. From staying connected to local communities and accessing emergency alerts, to conserving battery life and providing reliable access to content in areas with poor cellular coverage, FM receivers are a valuable tool for anyone who relies on their mobile phone for communication and entertainment. So next time you are choosing a mobile phone, make sure to look for one with an FM receiver to stay connected to your local community and stay informed in times of need.
